Job Description

Chemist II and Senior Chemist

We invite skilled professionals to join our Analytical Chemistry team in a role that supports global operations with advanced analytical solutions. This position encompasses responsibilities and opportunities for both Chemist II and Senior Chemist levels, offering the chance to engage in complex projects and lead innovation in our laboratory.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct analytical tests to support global operations, utilizing prescribed procedures.
  • Provide technical oversight and mentorship to laboratory technicians, junior chemists, contingent workers, and interns.
  • Manage and maintain advanced analytical equipment including GCMS, ICPMS, LECO Analyzers, and more.
  • Lead and develop new analytical methods, participate in method development, and contribute to research and development projects.
  • Oversee quality control and compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Communicate expectations and workload priorities effectively to team members and stakeholders.
  • Engage in routine SOP and JSA maintenance, use LIMS for data logging and reporting.
  • Participate in procurement for laboratory technologies and assist in budgeting and resource allocation.
  • Implement and promote health, safety, and environmental responsibilities.

  • Strong understanding of math, chemistry, and advanced analytical techniques.
  • Expertise in Word Processing, Excel, and database management.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and detail-oriented skills.
  • Strong report writing, presentation, and project management capabilities.
  • Effective communicator across diverse organizational levels, committed to teamwork and safety.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience required varies with level: Chemist II (2-5 years), Senior Chemist (7-10 years), particularly in a laboratory environment handling advanced analytical equipment.

Working Conditions:

  • Work with standard laboratory chemicals and sample preparation equipment.
  • Requires use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Possible extended hours based on project demands.
  • Blend of office and lab work, with occasional forays into operating areas.
