Job Description

In search of a high impact, hands on CFO! The ideal candidate would have raised hundreds of millions, taken a large company public, ideally already living in/ near Nashville so she/ he can quickly build a finance team locally. The person should have significant industrial space in their background. Having experience in the battery space is helpful but required.

Reporting to the President & CEO & President, the Chief Financial Officer will provide leadership to the organization that mirrors the values, mission and provides critical insights into the strategy of the Company. As a member of the company’s senior leadership team, the Chief Financial Officer will oversee all financial activities, including financial planning, budgeting, reporting, and analysis, providing strategic guidance to senior management and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Serve as a partner and key advisor to the CEO on corporate strategies and initiatives across the organization, including delivering timely financial expertise and insights to the company’s leadership team.

• Develop and execute financial strategies that support the company’s mission, growth goals and market opportunities.

• Leads fundraising activities, including private placements, venture/private equity rounds, and debt financing.

• Oversee company assets and capital allocation strategies, ensuring efficient use of resources to maximize ROI and support long-term growth.

• Evaluate strategic acquisition targets, lead due diligence, negotiate deal terms and support post-merger integration.

• Drive short and long-term financial forecasting, budgeting, scenario modeling and business case development.

• Ensure robust internal controls, GAAP-compliant financial reporting, and effective audit processes.

• Oversee all financial aspects of IPO readiness, including systems, processes, controls and regulatory compliance.

• Represent the company with investors, analysts, auditors and business partners as appropriate.

• Develop and mentor a high-performing Finance team to support the company’s current needs and future scale.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 15- 20+ years of progressive Finance experience, including 5+ years in a CFO or senior finance leadership role

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting or related field; MBA, CPA or CFA strongly preferred.

• Deep knowledge of GAAP, financial modeling, compliance and risk management

• Demonstrated experience raising institutional capital (equity and/or debt)

• M&A experience including deal structuring, negotiation and integration.

• Experience in manufacturing, cleantech or industrial environment strongly preferred

• Experience scaling a pre-IPO company and leading a successful IPO strongly preferred

• Experience interacting with Boards of Directors and/or Executive Leadership teams

• Experience developing and managing a team in an ever-changing environment

• Proactive, solution-orientation with exceptional judgment and creativity. Ability to think strategically, appropriately weighing financial and business objectives.

• Decisive decision-making abilities. Strong internal ethical code.

• Excellent oral and written communication, as well as interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
