Position: Data and Analytics Strategy Director

RSM is seeking an experienced Hands-On Data and Analytics Strategy Director with expertise in advising clients on developing strategic data and analytics roadmaps. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data architecture, cloud computing, and emerging digital trends in data, analytics, and AI. As a Data and Analytics Director, you will develop go-to-market offerings, lead rapid assessments, and collaborate internally to develop our data and digital narrative. This role combines technical proficiency, sales acumen, and presales experience to drive business growth and deliver innovative data solutions.

Responsibilities:

  1. Lead growth of our Data and Analytics business through assessments, strategy, and roadmaps.
  2. Deliver rapid assessments to identify gaps and develop data and analytics roadmaps.
  3. Work with technical architects and management consultants on strategy engagements.
  4. Stay updated on emerging trends, technologies, and industry developments in big data, cloud computing, and their impact.
  5. Develop and maintain best practices and standards for data management, governance, and security, ensuring compliance with regulations.
  6. Collaborate with sales and business development teams to identify client needs, develop solutions, and present to prospects.
  7. Work with cross-functional teams including data scientists, engineers, and stakeholders to define project requirements and timelines.

Basic Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, Engineering, or related fields.
  2. At least 15 years of overall IT experience, with 10+ years in Data and Analytics.
  3. Proven experience in developing and delivering data and analytics strategies across multiple clients.
  4. Thought leadership through publications, panels, or similar contributions.
  5. Deep understanding of data platforms, tools, and cloud capabilities supporting data modernization.
  6. Experience leading digital transformation initiatives involving data, analytics, AI, and GenAI.
  7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of articulating technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  8. Proven sales record in building pipelines through solutioning and client outreach.
  9. Experience with data governance assessments and delivery.
  10. Ability to manage relationships with senior client stakeholders and partners.
  11. Willingness to travel (~25%) for client meetings and projects.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Experience in Data and Analytics within a top-tier consulting firm.
  2. Advanced understanding of DataOps, MLOps, and FinOps.
  3. Previous role as a data architect.
  4. Certifications in cloud computing.
  5. Track record of building a consulting practice.
  6. Strong domain knowledge in any industry.

Education/Experience:

  1. Bachelor's in MIS, CS, Engineering, or equivalent.
  2. Master's in CS or MBA is preferred.
  3. Additional data and cloud certifications are advantageous.
