We’re hiring a HSE Manager!

Our Interior Systems Division is looking for a HSE Manager for its manufacturing facility in Saline, MI.

You’ll work on challenges that matter

This job will require you to

  • Respect and enforce the Group, Business Group, and Division HSE policy, procedures, and programs.
  • Carry out, or delegate as appropriate, the responsibilities of the EMR as described in the ISO 14001 standard and the Saline Plant EMS.
  • Manage HSE department employees and interns.
  • Manages Return to Work program as part of Workman’s Compensation
  • Manage medical care procedures
  • Manage site security.
  • Participate in Faurecia's HSE network and HSE reporting for the Faurecia group
  • Ensure department up to date awareness of applicable federal, state and local health, industrial hygiene, safety and environmental regulations.
  • Monitor legal compliance and manage the site's relations with local government and regulatory organizations
  • Responsible for plant environmental legal compliance
  • Ensure site is prepared for regulatory inspections (e.g.; record retention).
  • Monitor the reporting of HSE indicators (FR0t, environmental data, generic injury rate...)
  • Partner with plant and corporate to support engineering on Standard Operating Procedures
  • Coordinate emergency actions
  • Organize and drive HSE audits and trainings
  • Ensure investigation of accidents and lead preventative initiatives
  • Ensure plant ergonomic issues are addressed
  • Ensure healthy and safe work conditions are provided for employees, as well for running processes in an environmentally sustainable way.
  • Ensure development and maintenance of site level HSE programs and associated training
  • Advise managers on HSE matters and ensure implementation of recommendations
  • Ensure preparation and maintenance of current legal and company reporting requirements and analyze data.
  • Update and circulate best practices in prevention and protection matters in all the plants of the Division and towards the Business Group.
  • Analyze the site risks and bring solutions to improve the working conditions; the level of industrial safety; and respect of the environment.
  • Assist with any additional tasks as assigned by the company.

  • Act in accordance with the behaviors as established in Faurecia’s Code of Ethics and Code of Management.
  • Ensure the Environmental Management System (EMS) requirements are established, implemented, and maintained in accordance with the current ISO 14001 & 45001 standards.
  • Report on the performance of the Environmental Management System to top Management for review and as a basis for improvement to the EMS
  • Ensure members in assigned area(s) of responsibility conform to relevant HSE requirements.
  • Support environmental programs to achieve objectives and targets.
  • Commitment to the highest ethical standards and willingness to adhere to Faurecia’s Code of Ethics and Code of Management.

The ideal candidate

To succeed in this position, you will ideally have:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience managing HSE in a large and complex manufacturing site.
  • Degree in one of the following disciplines: Safety, Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical or Environmental Engineering.
  • 1 + years Manufacturing experience.
  • Workman’s Comp medical management
  • Expert knowledge on safety and environmental regulatory requirements
  • Knowledge and experience of ISO 14001 & 45001 standards.
  • Automotive experience preferred
  • Professional safety certifications preferred (i.e CSP, CIH…etc)
  • Proven experience in team management with leadership and coaching skills
  • Ability to build and manage a P&L budget.
  • Results oriented
  • English language required (French and/or Spanish preferred).
