Journeyman Electrician

Lafayette, IN

$55k/yr. + Travel Paid / Direct Hire

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Journeyman to join our team. In this role, you will provide on-site installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair services for automation mail and postage systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service with an immense amount of traveling. This role is 75%, so looking for a candidate that is up for the treavle and willing to do so.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform on-site installation, configuration, and testing of automation mail and postage systems.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, electrical, and software-related issues.
• Conduct preventive maintenance to ensure equipment operates efficiently.
• Provide technical support and training to customers on system operations and maintenance.
• Collaborate with internal support teams to resolve complex issues.
• Maintain accurate service reports and documentation.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies.
• Travel to customer sites within the assigned region.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training preferred.
• 2+ years of experience as a field service technician, preferably with automation systems or postage equipment.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems.
• Proficient in reading schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to travel and work flexible hours as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with mail automation systems or industrial automation equipment.
• Knowledge of PLCs, sensors, motors, and control systems.
• Certifications in relevant technical fields.
