Madison Avenue Couture (“MAC”) is the leading online independent dealer of pristine Hermes handbags in the USA. We are the “go to” reseller for new and never worn Birkins and Kellys. We also carry a small collection of Chanel and other hard to find handbags and branded fine jewelry.

We are headquartered in New York with a showroom in New York and Palm Beach. This position is based out of our showroom in Palm Beach.

The Luxury Operations Associate will support all aspects of Madison Avenue Couture’s Palm Beach new showroom and the greater Palm Beach region’s operational and customer assistance needs. This includes, but is not limited to, maintaining the showroom, overseeing appointments, fulfilling orders in the showroom and outside, handling deliveries and pickups, and managing the inventory.

MAC is a small organization and the ability to collaborate with others in Palm Beach and New York is essential to the success of the position. The Luxury Operations Associate will learn best practices in handling ultra luxury handbags and jewelry, as well as become extremely knowledgeable about the products we sell. The ideal candidate is versatile, has strong attention to detail, is interested in the products we sell and can interact effectively with both buyers and sellers.

This position reports directly to the Luxury Sales and Marketing Manager-Palm Beach with a dotted line relationship to the Manager of Operations in New York

Responsibilities:

  • Keep the showroom organized and uncluttered.
  • Manage the stockroom
  • Assist in the booking of appointments and pull merchandise prior to appointment and return to the stockroom after appointments.
  • Work with New York to receive products and ship products for customer requests.
  • Accept prospective merchandise from sellers/consignors and prepare shipments to New York.
  • Ensure in showroom purchases are properly packed
  • Ensure all outgoing orders are shipped in a timely manner.
  • Inspect and videotape all items prior to packing and shipping to ensure condition and accompaniments are as described.
  • Prepare domestic and international shipping labels.
  • Package each item being shipped in accordance with the high standards set by Madison Avenue Couture.
  • Alert the Luxury Sales and Marketing Manager and/or the appropriate people in New York to resolve any inventory, shipping, or delivery issues that arise.
  • Track incoming and outgoing packages. Schedule carrier delivery and pickups.
  • Lock up and secure inventory room at the end of each day.
  • Gain knowledge of the Company merchandise and assist in the handling of the merchandise.
  • Assist with resolving customer inquiries related to products, deliveries, or orders and supporting sales efforts.
  • Assist in the authentication process which includes taking photographs of bags/jewelry and accessories.
  • Provide excellent customer service in-person, over the phone, and via email.
  • Safely transport products to and from clients as needed.
  • Assist in special projects, as required. i.e., setting up in-store displays or preparing materials for promotional events.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • At least two years experience in operations, logistics and handling inventory.
  • Experience with shipping tools and courier services a plus.
  • Experience working in a luxury goods environment preferred.
  • Client facing experience is preferred
  • Must be detail oriented and highly organized.
  • Must have the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to use Google Documents required.
  • Knowledge of Shopify Plus a plus.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce and/or Netsuite a plus.
  • Passion for luxury goods, especially handbags, an asset.
  • Valid Driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Ability to lift and transport products as required (up to 30 lbs).
