Job Description

TITLE : Maintenance Manager

Comp: From $90,000-$100,000 per year

Location: Shelbyville, IN

Our client is seeking immediate assistance in identifying a candidate for a Maintenance Manager direct hire position in Shelbyville, IN

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a tenured maintenance team by setting clear expectations, enforcing accountability, and following up on performance and responsibilities.
  • Act as a hands-on change agent, confidently challenging long-standing habits and driving a culture shift within the team.
  • Take charge of day-to-day maintenance operations, including running reports, tracking KPIs, and responding to production downtime.
  • Partner with the other Maintenance Manager to ensure full plant coverage and effective collaboration.
  • Address maintenance-related issues and personnel concerns promptly and effectively.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and housekeeping procedures across the department.
  • Drive performance by aligning the team with departmental and company-wide goals.
  • Implement and track Kaizen-driven initiatives to reduce downtime and improve efficiency.
  • Manage the department budget, including preparation, tracking, and optimization.
  • Provide timely reporting and analysis of departmental performance and KPIs to leadership.
  • Participate actively in all required meetings and complete requested reports accurately and on time.
  • Continuously identify and act on opportunities for process improvement and team development.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, a technical field, or equivalent hands-on experience in machine maintenance within a manufacturing environment.
  • 6–8 years of overall maintenance experience in an industrial manufacturing setting.
  • 3+ years of experience in a maintenance management or leadership role.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop team members in a positive, goal-driven environment.
  • Experienced in applying Kaizen and Continuous Improvement methodologies to drive operational efficiency.
