Job Description

Position Summary:

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily maintenance operations in a high-volume manufacturing facility. This includes leading a team of maintenance technicians, ensuring equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and enforcing safety protocols. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, technical expertise in heavy industrial equipment, and a proactive approach to preventative maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate activities of maintenance personnel (mechanical, electrical, and/or hydraulic systems).
  • Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance programs to ensure optimal equipment performance and minimize production downtime.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical equipment issues, recommending and implementing solutions.
  • Ensure maintenance activities are performed in compliance with OSHA, environmental, and company safety standards.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, equipment logs, and CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) data.
  • Work closely with production, engineering, and safety teams to support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Schedule maintenance shifts and ensure adequate staffing and training.
  • Support capital projects and upgrades by coordinating contractor activity and internal team involvement.
  • Manage parts inventory, tool tracking, and vendor coordination.
  • Foster a positive work environment with an emphasis on teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Industrial Maintenance, Engineering, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
  • 5+ years of maintenance experience in a heavy industrial or manufacturing setting.
  • 2+ years in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • Proficient in mechanical systems, PLCs, hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, and electrical troubleshooting.
  • Experience with CMMS systems and preventive maintenance scheduling.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.

Preferred Attributes:

  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles.
