Job Description

The Securities Settlements and Controls Specialist at Natixis will play a crucial role in supporting Repo and Securities Lending activities, both bi-lateral and via Tri-party platforms, as well as equity and fixed income cash trading. This position is responsible for managing equity and fixed income settlements in collaboration with clearing banks and counterparties, ensuring timely operations and high standards of service. He/she/they will supervise outsourced labor from Broadridge, communicate effectively with the trading desk to address special situations and discrepancies, and oversee funding, Tri-party balancing, and cash balance monitoring.

Daily responsibilities include coordinating intra-day securities borrowing to facilitate trade settlements, conducting cash and custody reconciliations, and managing lifecycle events for the firm’s principal trading activities. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of trading operations, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to interact effectively with clients and internal teams in a fast-paced environment. • Settlement Operations: Oversee equity and fixed income settlements, ensuring timely operations in collaboration with clearing banks and counterparties.
• Supervision of Outsourced Labor: Manage and supervise Broadridge outsourced labor to guarantee prompt settlement of transactions and maintain high operational standards.
• Communication: Liaise with the trading desk to assess special situations, resolve discrepancies, and keep all parties informed about the status of uncompleted transactions and open exposures.
• Funding Adjustments Oversight: Monitor and control funding adjustments, Tri-party balancing, and allocations to ensure compliance and operational efficiency.
• Cash Balance Monitoring: Track clearing banks' USD cash balances throughout the trading day until market close to facilitate smooth operations.
• Securities Borrowing: Coordinate intra-day borrowing of securities to facilitate trade settlements and ensure operational continuity.
• Daily Reconciliations: Conduct daily reconciliations and controls, confirming fails and resolving differences between Front Office, counterparties, and clearing banks.
• Lifecycle Event Management: Manage lifecycle events for the firm's principal trading activities, including deal pre-matching and trade settlement.

Qualifications

• College Degree
• Minimum of 5 years Securities Clearing experience
• Previous settlement experience required
• Proficiency in MS Excel desirable
• Bi-lingual (French) not required but would be beneficial
• Working knowledge of BONY Clearing Systems (Nexen and BDC) & AccessEdge platform
• Knowledge of Summit Application a plus
• Series 99 required
• Highly motivated, pro-active individual who has demonstrated ability to take initiative, identify issues, propose solutions, and implement change
• Strong attention to detail, balanced with a strong inclination toward execution and results
• Self-starter, able to work in a fast-paced, results-driven environment with the ability to multi-task, adapt to shifting priorities, and work both independently and effectively in a team setting
• Excellent Excel and PowerPoint skills

The salary range for this position will be between $110,000 - 140,000. Natixis is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. Actual base salary will vary and will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, education, skills set, applicable licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. Base salary is only one component of our total rewards package. Natixis also offers a generous benefits package, and you may be eligible for a discretionary incentive award depending on company and individual performance.
