Geost seeks a highly capable Senior Program Quality Engineer to play a critical role in ensuring the highest levels of quality and reliability for advanced space systems. This position will lead quality assurance activities for assigned programs, oversee compliance with aerospace and mission assurance standards, and collaborate cross-functionally to meet mission-critical objectives. The ideal candidate will possess technical expertise, strong leadership skills, and a passion for excellence in aerospace and space manufacturing and quality.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Program Quality Leadership
    • Act as the quality assurance representative for assigned programs, ensuring compliance with customer, regulatory, and internal quality requirements.
    • Serve as a liaison between quality, engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to address quality-related issues.
  • Mission Assurance Compliance
    • Ensure adherence to mission assurance requirements to mitigate risk and support program success.
    • Integrate mission assurance principles into program planning, design, manufacturing, and testing phases.
    • Conduct reviews and provide oversight to confirm compliance with customer-specific mission assurance standards.
  • Process Oversight
    • Develop, implement, and maintain quality processes that support program milestones and deliverables.
    • Drive root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective actions using methodologies such as 8D, fishbone diagrams, and 5-Why analysis.
    • Lead risk management activities, including Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
  • Auditing and Compliance
    • Ensure adherence to industry standards such as AS9100 and ISO 9001.
    • Support internal and external audits, including customer and regulatory agency audits.
  • Supplier Quality
    • Collaborate with suppliers to verify quality assurance processes, conduct inspections, and address quality concerns.
    • Develop and monitor supplier quality metrics to ensure consistent performance.
  • Documentation and Reporting
    • Prepare and review quality documentation, including quality plans, inspection reports, and test records.
    • Provide program quality and mission assurance status updates to stakeholders through reports and presentations.
  • Team Leadership
    • Mentor and guide junior quality engineers and technicians.
    • Advocate for a quality-first culture across the organization.
  • Other
    • Support cross-functional teams in quality-related tasks beyond primary program responsibilities.
    • Participate in special projects, initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts as directed by leadership.
  • Ability to support on-site work as needed.
  • Ability to support travel or off-site work as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field.
  • An active U.S. Government Security Clearance or the ability to obtain a Clearance. Current SSBI is preferred.
  • Eight or more years of experience in quality engineering, preferably in aerospace, defense, or space industries.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of AS9100 standards, mission assurance principles, and aerospace quality systems.
  • Experience with quality tools such as TIPQA, Costpoint, or equivalent.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, including precision machining, composites, and/or electronics.
  • Proficiency in root cause analysis, corrective action implementation, and preventive measures.
  • Hands-on experience with supplier quality management and audits.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in engineering, Quality, or Business Management.
  • Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or equivalent certification.
  • Experience working with space-related hardware, systems, or payloads.
  • Familiarity with ITAR and export compliance regulations.
  • Knowledge of Earned Value Management (EVM).
  • Six sigma black belt certification.
