Job Description

Job Summary:

Technical Project Manager to support residential solar projects from early design through pre-construction. The role involves reviewing preliminary layouts and engineering plans, identifying buildability issues or additional costs, and conducting onsite job walks with field teams and stakeholders. The Technical Project Manager will work closely with Account Managers to support complex customer conversations, work with the warehouse team, Operations Manager and overall ensure project readiness, and provide technical guidance throughout the project lifecycle.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Review preliminary project layouts to assess constructability and identify additional construction or electrical costs. 
  • Evaluate complete plan sets and engineering designs for accuracy and feasibility. 
  • Occasionally conduct onsite site visits with field teams, homeowners, contractors, and electricians to discuss project scope and requirements. 
  • Coordinate with design, permitting, and field operations teams to ensure project readiness. 
  • Provide technical input during early-stage planning and address constructability concerns prior to installation. 
  • Assist Account Managers with technical discussions with homeowners on more complex projects. 
  • Support resolution of design or field issues as needed throughout the project lifecycle. 
  • Identify potential issues early and recommend solutions to prevent delays or change orders. 
  • Stay informed about code requirements and construction best practices across multiple jurisdictions. 
  • Contribute to improving design standards and documentation by sharing feedback from field experiences.

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent is required; an associate or bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred. 

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in the solar industry or in project management.

 

 

 

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
  • Conduct site visits as necessary.
  • Must be able to access and navigate each department at the company’s facilities.

Safety Requirements:

  • Ensure that Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is always worn when visiting any work site.
  • Strictly adhere to all safety regulations and rules while working at any location.

· The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud when installation is in process. Employees will be subject to weather conditions, not limited to rain, wind, heat and cold. Employees must wear protective equipment (PPE) assigned by their designated work area.
