Job Description

Intern – Assistant Basketball Coach | Utah Prep (Start Date: August 1)

This is an  unpaid or stipend-based internship , with housing and meals potentially included for qualified candidates.  At the end of the internship, there may be an opportunity for employment with the program, based on performance and organizational needs.

While applications are welcome from all qualified candidates, we are particularly interested in interns based in Utah or the Las Vegas area due to proximity to campus and the potential for easier integration into the program.

Utah Prep Academy is an international college-preparatory boarding school located in Hurricane, Utah. Nestled on a 55-acre campus near Zion National Park, Utah Prep is known for combining rigorous academics, elite athletics, and leadership development. We are currently seeking a passionate and committed  Assistant Basketball Coach Intern to join our athletic department. This internship offers hands-on experience working with one of the nation’s top prep basketball programs and is ideal for individuals looking to build a career in coaching. Reporting to the National or Program Head Coach, the intern will assist in all facets of team operations including practices, film sessions, and player development.

Responsibilities include supporting daily drills and workouts, assisting with travel logistics, contributing to scouting and game preparation, tracking stats, and managing bench duties during games. Interns will also have the opportunity to build strong relationships with student-athletes while modeling professionalism and integrity on and off the court.

Ideal candidates will have a background in competitive basketball—either as a player or student coach—and a strong interest in learning coaching systems and methodology. Organizational skills, effective communication, and the ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel with the team are essential.
