Job Description

Our client's objective is discovers, develops, and markets vertical integration of Pharmaceutical manufacturing and private label skincare. The company manufactures Pharmaceutical products to assist physicians with their patients in the areas of dermatology and plastic surgery. The medications are customized to meet the needs of patients that are unable to tolerate commercially available medications.

  • We're looking for a Staff Pharmacist for the compounding department
  • This is a manufacturing site located in Pompano Beach, Fl.
  • Salary range is: $110,000 to 130,000.00/year

Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Supervising Pharmacist:

  • Directly oversee and actively supervise non-sterile and sterile compounding operations, ensuring compliance with standard operating procedures, USP, FDA, and DEA regulations (if applicable)
  • Manage the current compounding laboratory staff and train incoming compounding laboratory staff on current policies and procedures related to their job description
  • Review logged formula records containing quality control data, assess completed compounded products for pharmaceutical elegance and adherence to specifications, review labels for accuracy, and release compounded products to production after acceptable review Maintain and control daily compounding schedule created by the Buyer/Planner Support and enforce company policies, practices, and cGMPs.
  • Assist in quality assurance and quality control when it applies to the compounding lab, including but not limited to performing product recalls, evaluation of compounding technique, and supervising/performing in-process quality control on compounded products
  • If applicable, oversee and perform controlled substances management in accordance with state and federal regulations
  • Assist in maintaining controlled documents in the pharmacy necessary to ensure accurate control over and accountability for all drugs and compounded products as required by applicable state and federal laws, rules, and regulations
  • Manage and monitor inventory, distribution, and use of active and inactive pharmaceutical ingredients
  • Perform scheduled inventory counts and quarantine expired and/or chemicals not in use for reverse distribution or disposal via company’s hazardous waste disposal
  • Supervise the maintenance of the compounding room environment by conforming to standard operating procedures. Oversee the cleaning, sanitization and monitoring of the non-sterile and sterile environments in accordance with standard operating procedures
  • Handle special projects and perform other duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and manage compounding pharmacy technicians and compounding supporting staff as they relate to the practice of pharmacy compounding. This includes training, coaching, and evaluating the performance of compounding pharmacy technicians and supporting staff.

Qualifications:

  • Pharmacy Degree
  • Must be a Registered Pharmacist in the state of Florida in good standing
  • Preferred minimum 1-2 years of experience in non-sterile and sterile compounding

  • PC Skills – Demonstrates HIGH proficiency in Microsoft Office (i.e., Excel, Word, Outlook) applications; knowledge of, or ability to learn, other systems as required. Demonstrates ability to type on PC keyboard
  • Knowledge of USP 795/797/800, FDA regulations, State and Federal pharmacy regulations
